Who we Are and How we Started

Founded by Daniel and Ashley Scholl, we set out to solve a problem and create a better solution for people like ourselves. Ashley is a pilot for Delta Air Lines and Daniel is a pilot for Alaska Airlines and both of us were commuting to different cities when we started with our companies. Together we have stayed in crashpads all over and have picked what we liked the best and remembered what we disliked the most to create a product that everybody will love and one that is conveniently packaged and inclusive.

We purchased out first location in SeaTac, Washington, close to the airport in 2017 when Daniel was commuting to Seattle for Alaska Airlines and Crew Dashpads was born. The property wasn’t much but after a full interior rehab, including a brand new kitchen, new bathroom, all new furniture, and a fully stocked kitchen, we had something. Word of mouth travelled and our crashpad demand was high. Daniel was commuting to this pad in Seattle, sitting reserve, and learning first hand from our customers what they wanted and how to make it better. That’s when our product was truly born. With quality feedback and being a user of the product, we created a place that we would be ok commuting to; somewhere that felt more like a home, and a place you could walk into and know the place is clean and people are respectful.

Our Business Model

This is how the foundation of Dashpads was formed and how we continue to strive to run our business. We purchased our second location in SeaTac, Washington in the end of 2018 and now have 2 locations - one all male location and one all female location.

Our corner stones are simple yet effective: affordable, quality, and convenience.

Our model is to provide a high quality, close to the airport, package-deal crashpad with exceptional customer service. We go above and beyond that by providing remodeled homes, fully stocked and with all new furniture as to present a truly upgraded living situation. We are confident that if you chose to live with others in a crashpad type situation, there’s a good way to do it. We’ve lived by that mindset and will continue to run Dashpads like this.

The Name

The name Crew Dashpads was formed because we didn’t like the word “crash” in a place we stay; we wanted it to say, we’re better than that. By combining our names together, we came up with the name Dashpads - the crashpad without the crash.

A Note from Us

After being in the industry for over 10 years each, we are so excited to be able to provide this business to others in the aviation industry to show them how a pad can be run and that you don’t have to break the bank to afford it. Commuters can live easy knowing they are showing up to a place that is kept at high standards and run by two pilots who know what it’s like.

Ashley and I are now married and living in Southern California where we are both based with our airlines. We take pride in running a great business while flying for our airlines and enjoying the hobbies we love at the beach. We both look forward to the opportunity to serve you in our Crew Dashpads and are excited at the opportunity of expanding our business model to new cities in the future.

We look forward to your stay.
